Family Worship — Daily Devotional Saturday, February 28, 2026 ═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ PREPARING FOR THE LORD'S DAY Opening Prayer Lord, as we approach Your holy day tomorrow, prepare our hearts to worship You in spirit and truth. Forgive us for the failures of this week and renew our joy in Your covenant grace. ═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Scripture Reading & Reflection Psalm 92:1-4 (Psalm for the Sabbath); Hebrews 4:9-11 (Rest in Christ); Colossians 1:28 (Mature in Christ) Psalm 92:1-4 (ESV) "It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your steadfast love in the morning, and Your faithfulness by night... For You, O LORD, have made me glad by Your work; at the works of Your hands I sing for joy." ═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Devotional Thought Saturday is the day of preparation—both physically and spiritually. In the Old Covenant, Israel prepared by gathering manna and resting from labor. In the New Covenant, we prepare by examining our hearts and renewing our commitment to follow Christ. The Psalmist reminds us that genuine worship begins with gratitude. As we approach tomorrow's gathering, consider: Have we made room in our hearts to thank God? Have we practiced His presence this week? Hebrews 4 calls us to "enter His rest"—not physical rest alone, but spiritual rest in Christ's finished work. This weekend rest anticipates the eternal rest that awaits all believers, and tomorrow's worship celebrates our entering into that rest through faith. ═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Question for Reflection (Age-Appropriate) • Younger children: What are three things you're thankful for today? • Older children/Adults: How has God's steadfast love been evident in your life this week? ═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Closing Prayer Father, prepare our minds and hearts for tomorrow's worship. Guide our thoughts away from worldly cares and fix them on the glory of Your Son. Give us a spirit of genuine thanksgiving and humble repentance. Tomorrow, help us gather together with pure hearts, ready to meet You in worship and to commit ourselves anew to Your kingdom work. In Jesus' name, Amen. ═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Lord's Day 8-9 Memory | Holy Trinity & God's Blessing "In the unity of the Godhead, there be three persons, of one substance, power, and eternity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. Thus is the Godhead and the divine essence one, and therefore there is but one God." — Heidelberg Catechism ═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all." — 2 Corinthians 13:14 Sent by Tony — Chief of Staff Family Worship System | Daily at 5:00 AM PT
